Road to Sangam Movie Synopis
Road to Sangam features Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Javed Sheikh, Swati Chitnis, Pawan Malhotra, G. P. Singh, Masood Akhtar, Rajan Bhise, Vijay Mishra, Yusuf Hussain, Sudhir Nema, Rakesh Srivastav in the lead roles and is directed by Amit Rai and produced by Amit Chheda under the banner Shethia Audio Video. Music is scored by Nitin-Prem, Vijay Mishra and lyrics by Allama Iqbal, Sudhir Nema.
Paresh Rawal plays the character of Hashmat Ullah a mechanic. Om Puri plays the character of Mohammed Ali Kasuri a community leader, Pavan Malhotra plays the character of Maulana Qureshi another muslim community leader, Javed Shaikh plays the character of Dr.Banerjee who is a friend of Hashmat Ullah and his soul brother.
Hashmath Ullah who is a mechanic by profession is a good firend of Dr.Banerjee even though they belong to different religion and culture. Dr.Banerjee is like 'a friend in need is a friend indeed' helping & standing by Hashmath Ullah in all the situations.
Hashmath Ullah gets a old V8 Ford Engine for repair unaware that it was once used to carry ashes of Mahatma Gandhi to immerse in the 'Sangam' of holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswathi.
A Powerful bomb explodes in his town which leads to the arrest of youth in the town suspecting them responsible for the bomb blasts. A strike to close shops will be called by prominent community leaders Mohammed Ali Kasuri and Maulana Qureshi protesting against the arrest of innocent youth by the police.
Will Hashmat support the protest and abandon the repair of the engine or will he go against the wishes of his community forms the rest of the story.
